Which would you choose: safety or freedom? What if it wasn't about choosing..  Is it really just about finding the right balance. Well, that's easy enough isn't it?

Safety is actually a synonym for freedom: according to thesaurus.com

anyways..

Main Entry: safety
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: protection from harm
Synonyms: assurance, asylum, cover, defense, freedom, immunity, impregnability, inviolability, invulnerability, refuge, safeness, sanctuary, security, shelter
Antonyms: danger, exposure, jeopardy, vulnerability

Benjamin Franklin said: "He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither"

Well damn, I'd say that sounds about right. And fuck I need my freedom!

But it's pretty evident that we aren't fully free to do what we want and we're never guaranteed complete safety. We're all conflicted with various judgment calls and there is no absolute right. This is a huge debate in our government right now. This conundrum enters our lives in various shared social settings, environmental issues and it is present in our personal psychological worlds.

It takes a lot of analyzation, work, and  maintenance to live a balanced safe and free life.  In the meantime we're  going to experiment on how these ideas affect our art and make a night to remember.. hopefully full of safety and freedom.
